Welcome!

I am so glad that you visited our website, and I want to take just a moment to introduce you to this congregation. We are a diverse group, and our four worship services on Sunday mornings are reflective of that diversity. The 8:30 a.m. First Up service is held in our Great Hall on the third floor of our church building, and is a more casual, intimate service. The 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. sanctuary services are classical worship experiences, with a beautiful pipe organ, a full chancel choir, and the liturgical setting familiar to many who have grown up in the mainline tradition of Christian worship. Also at 11:00 a.m., we have The Open Door service, which is more contemporary in worship style and is held at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater on Kirkwood Avenue, just a block or so from our church building.   Along with our Sunday worship experiences, First United Methodist has a full menu of weekly and seasonal activities that include groups of all ages in our church and our community. We truly do value the people who are with us in worship and our many other activities, and I hope that you will accept my invitation to join us soon.
