Sunday Morning Classes Adult Bible Study "Bread for the Journey"
9:30 a.m. - Room 219
This class explores how the Bible affects and supports our life's journey today while enjoying a warm community of new and old friends. The class is facilitated by Rob Norris and is exploring the Book of Acts.
Progressive Journeys
9:30 a.m. - Thurston Parlor
This group explores progressive theology. All who are interested in studying and learning about progressive theology are welcome to attend. The current book for discussion is Saving Paradise: How Christianity Treaded Love of This World for Crucifixion and Empire, by Rita Nakashima Brock and Rebecca Ann Parker. Wesley Conventicle 9:30 a.m. - Room 310
The Wesley Conventicle class is discussing how the early Christian followers of Jesus created communities of believers that eventually became the Church. They will look at the styles of leadership, how authority was determined, and what steps led to church development using Acts, the Pauline Letters, and other early Christian sources. All are invited to attend.
Ongoing Opportunities Small Groups
There are a variety of small groups that meet at First Church. Small groups encourage us to faithfully connect to each other in meaningful ways. Please view the groups listed on the Small Groups page.
Dozens of small groups meet throughout the year. If you would like to connect with others around gardening, cooking, covenant discipleship, singles, Habitat for Humanity, infant and toddler playgroup or a variety of other areas of interest (including one you might suggest), contact the church office at 332-6396 for more information.
Sisters of Sophia

Covenant Discipleship Groups
Covenant Discipleship Groups consist of approximately five to seven members who meet for an hour each week for support and for encouragement in living as Christian disciples. If you would like to join a Covenant Discipleship group, contact the church office.
In Stitches
First and Third Wednesdays of each month
6:30 - 8:30 p.m. - Room 310
An informal time to spend in fellowship working on various needle art projects such as knitting, crocheting, quilting, cross stitch, etc. Bring your own project for an opportunity to stitch, teach, learn, and share. For more information, contact Maria Schmidt at marschmi at indiana.edu.
