Various groups affiliated with First Church are recipients of special monetary offerings each month and also provide opportunities for service. These groups include the following:
 
United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), an international emergency disaster fund; Covenant Relationship with Rev. Sandra Olewine, a United Methodist missionary in Jerusalem; Sister Parish, a love and faith relationship with a small community in Se’mo, Guatemala;
 
Habitat for Humanity, the building of homes for families in need of housing in our area;
 
Shalom Community Center, a daytime resource center at First Church that offers meals and social services to residents of Monroe County experiencing homelessness and poverty;
 
Africa University (part of Education Outreach),a fund that supports Africa University and provides assistance to Eben Nhiwatiwa and his work with the university;FUMC Wednesday Food Pantry, a service supplying free groceries to people in need;
 
Monroe County United Ministries (MCUM), an organization which provides day care and other emergency services to people in Monroe County;Hunger and Housing: Local Emergency Assistance, a fund maintained for the purpose of assisting with shelter and food needs through a variety of agencies and projects.
