ABOUT USAt First United Methodist Church, Bloomington, we try hard to provide worship and service opportunities for all of God's people. Some are in need of a place where they can come on Sunday morning just to receive ministry, while others follow God's leading to participate in ministries of service. At FUMC, we seek to embrace both yearnings. As you can imagine, being this close to Indiana University, we have a strong University and Young Adult program, and youth (UMYF) program. Our Children's Ministries offer wonderful opportunities for little ones and their families. We are also active in Habitat for Humanity, and our church sponsors and houses the Shalom Center, a downtown daytime resource center to those who are impacted by homelessness and poverty. Our Outreach Program includes our Parish Nurses, who perform valuable ministry for the church and our community. The chancel choir is justly famous, and the Wesley Choir (which sings for the 8:30 service), our many Bell Choirs, and our Children's choirs provide a musical outlet for many to express and develop their own giftedness. |
